Symbols and colors in Caucasian and alpine Carpets
For centuries, the archetypal symbols of the weaving peoples have been an expression of the culture that unites. In all countries of the world familiar signs are woven into textiles, which are of great importance for people of different cultures. Over the centuries cultural exchange and trade between peoples shaped the mutual influences of color, pattern and style. With the exhibition of the most beautiful examples of Azerbaijani flat weaves of the South Tyrolean private collection WINCOR and the “Defregger” Carpets from the Val Pusteria this influence of patterns and colors is visibly displayed.
