Gaetano Aloisio
Maestro Gaetano Aloisio began learning the trade of tailoring at the age of 11, and in 1980 he moved to Milan where he attended the most famous tailoring schools. In 1986 he was awarded with Forbici d’Oro Award, the most prestigious award in the category. In 1991 he opened his own Atelier in Rome. From 1995 his creations cross the border to be worn all over the world. In 2011 he received the honor of the Knight Order of Merit of the Italian Republic with the decree of President of Italian Republic Mr Giorgio Napolitano. In 2013 he inaugurated the new headquarters of his Atelier inside the historic Villa Malta in via di Porta Pinciana 1, a prestigious address in the heart of Rome, a must-see for international visitors but also a symbolic place of Italian culture and creativity, all elements that are found in the elegance of the cuts and in the preciousness of the fabrics used for the garments that honor the best sartorial traditions. Gaetano Aloisio‘s creations are worn by the most important names in finance, politics and world industry, by various members of Royal Families and by many Heads of State. Today the name of Maestro Gaetano Aloisio is synonymous with the most authentic and sophisticated ’Made in Italy’ and absolute excellence in
artisan quality. Today he is the CEO of Gaetano Aloisio Atelier, Roma Style company, Aloisio
Camiceria shirtmaker company and Aloisio Banzola shoemaker company. The Atelier Gaetano Aloisio has 35 employees and is considered one of the largest Atelier not only in Italy but also worldwide. From 2019 Gaetano Aloisio is the President of Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori,

He was the ESCADA CEO for Italy and France and, before that, worked as a marketing manager for major brands like Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ozbek. His wife Giorgia is the granddaughter of Gaetano Savini, who founded Brioni, the celebrated house of high fashion for men.
Then one day, Stefano, and his wife Giorgia, simply made the decision to leave the whole rat race behind. They were so struck by the power of this experience that they developed their own signature holiday concept: privacy and authenticity in the high mountains, on the high seas and in the heart of Rome − three places on our planet where time stands still. They expressly designed their San Lorenzo Lodges as deluxe yet wholly private havens far removed from the hustle and bustle of our modern world.
Today his mission is to be ambassadors of Italian style.

In 2009 he co-curates the book “Mestieri d’arte e Made in Italy. Giacimenti culturali da riscoprire”, followed by “Artefici di bellezza” in 2013 and by “Il Valore del mestiere” in 2014, all published by Marsilio Editori (this last one has also been translated in English). From 2010 he is a visiting professor at the Creative Academy in Milan, and from 2014 he teaches “Bellezza Italiana” (the code of Italian beauty) at Milan’s Politecnico University. In 2016 he is named Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, a private, non-for-profit institution created in Geneva by Johann Rupert and Franco Cologni, with the aim to promote, protect and perpetuate the métiers d’art of excellence, bridging them into the future. For the Michelangelo Foundation he curates the international event “Homo Faber: Crafting a more human future” (Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice). In 2020 he curated, for the Cologni Foundation, “Mirabilia. Una Wunderkammer per scoprire i mestieri d’arte milanesi”, the first of a cycle of exhibitions dedicated to Italian contemporary crafts, organised in the Quadreria space of Triennale Milano.
